The Ringmaster was a hidden gem that I'm so glad I found. While I haven't read other works by Masten, the story she created here was beautiful, seductive, intriguing and quite compelling.I loved Olivia and Donovan's chemistry and you're given enough insight into each character to feel like you understand them and the reasons behind their actions. The traveling BDSM circus that Donovan has created is fantastical and I found myself wanting to see something like that in real life. The performances Masten writes about are alluring and well thought out; it was easy to picture being in the middle of this fantasy circus and not knowing where you want to look next or being captivated by the performers.
The dominance/submission aspect of this book was done quite tastefully and beautifully. You could feel the connection between the hero and heroine and it wasn't exaggerated or over dramatized. Olivia is a young woman who is trying to find her way and Donovan helps her become comfortable in herself and abilities.
The circus adds an air of seduction and fantasy to the book, Olivia's own life adds some danger and adventure and the D/s aspect of her and Donovan adds romance and steam. The book really has it all. I hope Masten continues writing stories like these that make you fall in love with the characters and the world around them.

I've read quite a few of Erica Masten's ebooks. They tend to be really racy..love it! This was a departure from her normal stories...and in a good way. This was a love story. just wish it was longer.
This couldn't have been more perfect! Donovan Haigh, what a man! A great story with enough twists and turns to get you interested and enough erotic material to make you pant. Highly recommended.
This book is enticing and sensual, while the plot is unique especially for the genre. The author uses her ability to tell a fanciful story, drawing you in to her wonderland with decadent imagery, intriguing characters, and the hope for more. The only disappointment is I had to leave the fantasy when it came to an end and I realized it wasn't a trilogy.
Literally could not stop reading...there isn't one thing to complain about. The story line was beyond sexy, everything really flowed nicely and you got just enough background story on the characters to be able to understand them. The "Ringmaster" rivals my all time favorite alpha males. Definitely one of my favorites so far this year. It was really nice to be drawn in to a story such as this...The Circus scenes were very sensual in the way they were described and actual sex was kept to a minimum. I will be reading this one again!!

Very creative story with a brooding yet caring dominant hero. Wish this kind of circus would come to my town...
You can always trust Erika Masten to deliver. Her command of language and story are superb...she never disappoints. Highly recommend.
This was like eating a very rich, moist chocolate cake with the most amazing frosting. YUMMY! I couldn't stop reading! I had to go to bed. It was sooooo late but I was sucked into this magical universe of lust, sensation, attraction and romance. What an absolute hunk the ringmaster is. Oh, Lordy! The chemistry between Olivia and Donovan Haigh nearly short-circuited my . The mystery of these two people slowly unravels during the course of the novel. Olivia has her fair share of secrets as well. I love how the story was told from both perspectives, which made it all that much hotter.

Like other readers I was riveted reading this story. I started late last night and finished early this morning. The problem with a great story is it ends too soon when you devour it in a short time. You are left feeling sorry it did so soon and hope you will find another. It is not easy to find such quality and original stories in this genre.
Erika Masten has a remarkable gift for imaginative writing. She paints sublime vivid colored pictures through her words, taking sensuality to a new level and it is exquisite. When she described in lush detail the exotic circus I felt I was there seeing it in all of its glory. I found myself remembering what the circus was like when I went as a child and how fascinated I was by the sights and sounds. Now I have experienced it as an adult, it is much better.
Donovan and Olivia are breathtaking and their thoughts give insight to intelligent interactions. I was addicted to Donovan, as Olivia was. He surely was a strong, sexy alpha male and offered (offers) me vivid sensual new dreams. I enjoyed all of the other characters as well.
The ring master is a story I will want to read again. I sincerely recommend it. No disappointment, only pleasure.
